Purple Flower

Purple Flower, originally uploaded by Janebug.

Once again, my lack of gardening knowledge defeats me and I have to confess that I have no idea what this is. What I do know, however, is that it's growing up the back wall of my house!

I don't know what it is either, but I sure know that the contrast between the green in the background and the purple is fascinating. And not to forget the water droplets and texture... Very neat!

Generally I'm not much into flower shots, but this is an impressive macro. Great detail.

I like the alternative view from the back side. It looks familiar but ... uhhh...I don't want to look stupid if I get it wrong. Heh.

Whether weed or not, tis a wonderful shot, especially with the drops, makes it look all the more delicate looking.

Lovely colours and a unique composition! I think if the potential was there to increase the size of the aperture to blur the background a bit more I would do - but that's personal preference :D

I am not sure what it is - I will have to ask my wife, she knows all this stuff. Like Sidney I like the effect of the water drops.

Lovely shot of a purple clematis - clematis come in many different colors. I have several at my home.

Not a bad thing to have grow up the back of your house. I can think of much worse :)

Great macro.

Thank you everyone!

Jem - yes, looking back at it I possibly should have done. But I have to admit that when it comes to things like that I'm incredibly lazy and tend to just point and shoot!
